The Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails serves girls ages 5 to 17 with a variety of programs that include camping, photography, hiking, technology, arts and much more. All activities help grow our community and grow leaders for the future.
Girl Scouts is the premier leadership organization dedicated solely to girl empowerment. For over 100 years Girls Scouts has been diligently pursuing its mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails (GSNMT), an affiliate of Girl Scouts U.S.A., traces our roots to the first Girl Scouts council established in NM in 1927. A merger between Girl Scouts of Chaparral Council and the Sangre de Cristo Council formed GSNMT in 2007.In 2016, GSNMT provided program services to about 3,400 girls in 23 counties across 71,500 square miles in Central and Northern NM. We have over 2,200 adult volunteers. GSNMT headquarters is located in Albuquerque, withregional offices in Farmington, Santa Fe, and Clovis, and camp properties in Cuba and Angel Fire. GSNMT’sprogramming has continued to evolve to remain relevant to today’s girls in New Mexico, who face many serious challenges, including high poverty levels and a lagging education system. Ourprograms balance fun with experiential hands-on learning to achieve outcomes that give girls the means to cultivate 21stcentury skills and the knowledge and attitudes necessary to be successful in school, career, and life.
