Primary objective is to provide victims and witnesses with easy access to information about their cases and provide them support throughout the prosecution. The Victim Witness Unit provides emotional support and advocacy on behalf of victims and witnesses within the judicial system by soliciting input in the form of written Victim Impact Statements, assistance and completion of "Victim Compensation"applications and verification of claims, modification of bond conditions, restraining orders, referrals to support services, property return assistance, restitution requests, transportation to court as needed, employer-creditor-school intervention, and case status notification throughout prosecution.
