Our organization has been building on this passion for over 58 years while continuing our commitment to level the playing field for those with disabilities. We empower individuals to live the best life possible by removing barriers that inhibit independence and autonomy. At Ability Connection, we focus on each person's ability and believe in each individual's potential for success. Removing Limits through Technology / Assistive Technology Program: Demonstrations of assistive technology, training for hardware and software, and assistance in securing assistive devices that enable individuals to perform tasks with greater independence, such as voice recognition software and adaptive keyboards. Public Education: Training provided to the community about programs, events and disability-related topics with the goal of positively influencing public opinion and attitudes related to persons with disabilities and enhancing understanding of cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Information and Referral: Response to requests for information about physical and intellectual disabilities and related community services. General questions and specific requests for assistance are addressed. Home and Community-Based Supports for children and adults: Work with individuals and families to provide necessary supports for individuals to remain independent.
