In just two years since its inception, Coro Lux has started a non-profit organization, a scholarship fund, performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and has produced a CD of Brahms’ Requiem to be released and available for purchase at May 6th and 7th concerts.
The Scholarship Fund for Music Education will benefit the Coro Lux Chamber Chorus whose members have recently graduated with degrees in music, or anyone who is able to make it through the audition process and who needs financial assistance.
Coro Lux Scholarship Fund for Music Education Program distinguishes itself from the many great choruses in the community by offering a place where musicians can have a chance to continue to perform their music without any financial burden with the intent to keep them from giving up on music. Our aim is to attract singers to audition for Coro Lux, and to join forces with some of the best singers in town who are at the height of their vocal power. This program covers expenses incurred by chorus members who are in need, and who would not otherwise be able to sing in a chorus of this stature and prestige.
In the year 2017-2018, Coro Lux is scheduled to perform in Florence, Italy, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and many others as Coro Lux participates in international choral festivals, and benefit concerts throughout the year.
