Non-judgmental listening on any areas of concern; referrals to appropriate agencies for further assistance. Sometimes it's hard to talk about certain problems with family and friends. As trained peer counselors, our volunteers are ready to provide compassionate and unbiased listening for anything you want to discuss. We won't tell you how to solve your problem, but we'll help you figure out what options you might have. Many people call us when they are experiencing a crisis such as suicidal thoughts, grief, domestic violence, depression and many other serious issues. You don't have to be in crisis to call though - we want to help you deal with stress and navigate the difficult times we all experience from day to day. People of all ages use our services and are welcome to call us any time.
When you call our help-line, we won't ask your name - only your zip code and a few other anonymous questions which help us secure funding. Our service is confidential and offered free of charge. We have many callers who need help, so if you don't get through at first it is because our volunteers are already on calls. Please know that we want to talk with you, so call back or leave us a message so we can call you.
