Albuquerque Interfaith is a broad based, non-partisan, multi-issue, and non-profit organization comprised of dues-paying member institutions in Bernalillo County. Albuquerque Interfaith organizes in those institutions; congregations, public schools, and caring communities to develop leaders who, through building relationships that lead to action, reweave the social fabric of community life. Leadership development and training is a key component of our work so that ordinary people can do extraordinary things. Our most recent example is Albuquerque Interfaith pitching in to receive 21 busloads or 1,000 aylum seekers passing through our city. Albuquerque Interfaith is affiliated nationally with the Industrial Areas Foundation, the oldest and largest community-organizing network in the United States. The leaders identify, research and respond to the economic, social, and political pressures facing their families, neighborhoods, communities, and institutions in Bernalillo County. This response takes the form of collective public action at the local, regional, and state level.
