The American Legion is a non profit organization that provides temporary assistance to veterans and their families. This program is called CNY - Children and Youth. The American Legion will assist with rent, utilities, food vouchers and gas cards. If receiving assistance for rent or utilities you must provide a three day notice for rent or disconnection notice for your utility company. For same day service you must provide your DD 214 showing proof of honorable discharge and meet membership requirements.
