We are funded through Bernalillo County to provide Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and aftercare service coordination and care management. FFT, developed from evidence-based principles is both a prevention and step down program for at risk youth. We provide home-based counseling to address family dynamics that may be impacting delinquent behaviors, poor decision making, or youth with behavioral health needs. FFT is a highly regarded, family centered model proven to reduce recidivism, reduce out of home placements, and increase overall family functioning. The result of FFT is a long standing change that impacts multiple generations by breaking the cycle of victimization, incarceration, and poverty. FFT is a brief but intense intervention (3-6 months) in which therapist meets with family members once a week.
AMIkids is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping troubled youth develop into responsible and productive citizens. AMIkids’ mission is to protect the public safety and positively impact as many youth as possible through the efforts of a diverse and innovative staff. AMIkids works in partnership with youth agencies, local communities and families.
