Ancestral Lands is a program of SCC and engages Native youth and young adults in meaningful conservation projects on Native Lands, with programs in Acoma Pueblo, Albuquerque, the Hopi and Navajo Nations, and Zuni Pueblo. We work on a variety of projects, including historical preservation, traditional agriculture, habitat restoration, youth hiking clubs, stream restoration, fencing, trail construction and more. The Ancestral Lands program aims to incorporate cultural reconnection and resurgence as well as personal and professional development. Our vision is to lead our Nations back to ecological and cultural well-being.
Ancestral Lands is a program of the Southwest Conservation Corps’ (SCC) whose mission is to empower individuals to positively impact the environment, their communities, and themselves.
