Animal Protection New Mexico is a statewide nonprofit that protects animals by creating social change resulting in the humane treatment of all animals. We create policies, infrastructure, and services that protect animals and strengthen our communities. We design and implement humane, pragmatic solutions to seemingly intractable problems involving animals. In conjunction with our legislative arm, Animal Protection Voters, we change entrenched systems that harm animals, demonstrating to the public and policymakers that the wellness of our society overall is directly linked to the wellbeing of all animals.
Our programs include humane education, protecting animal and human victims of domestic violence, protecting equines, wildlife, farmed and companion animals, operating statewide helplines, protecting animals used in science, and changing laws to better protect animals.
APNM’s mission is to advocate the rights of animals by effecting systemic change, resulting in the humane treatment of all animals.
