Everyone has data. Apex knows what to do with it.
Our goal is to transform information into knowledge, theory into practice, and research into reality.
We work with a wide range of programs and projects that mainly address barriers to academic and social success. Our typical client is looking to improve systems and services, and conditions and outcomes for vulnerable populations. Apex joined the CDC National Network of Prevention Training Centers (NNPTC) in 2014 to build on our School-Based Health Center work in New Mexico and Colorado.
Evaluation
Our core mission is to evaluate. For us that means developing and implementing a robust and agile evaluation plan to meet the needs of a particular client or program. We're informed and influenced by systems evaluation, results-based accountability, developmental evaluation, utilization-focused evaluation, and participatory evaluation. We believe evaluation is a collaborative process that is directly linked to implementation.
Grantsmanship
Money isn't everything. But it's a start. We're always monitoring the grants and funding landscape, looking for opportunities for our clients. It all begins with prospecting to find the right opportunity. Then we facilitate the planning and writing necessary to put together a winning proposal. We like to call it cultivation.
Data Systems
Data collection, data management, and reporting are key aspects to evaluation. We build and support tools that make data collection efficient and accurate, data management safe and secure, and data reporting visual and effective. We've created an entire division for this purpose, called Apex Apps.
Professional Development
We've learned a great deal about what works and what doesn't work in our fields as a result of our role as evaluators. It's a combination of what research tells us and what reality teaches us. We can't keep it to ourselves – so in addition to producing great reports and facilitating thinking, we are doing more and more professional development on a range of topics in education, health, and social science.
Organizational Development
Many of the principles we live by in the world of evaluation are universal. We use them to make us a better organization, and we understand many of the challenges our clients face. We elevate by going beyond the programs we evaluate and support improvement at the organizational level.
The evolution of evaluation - that's Apex.
