Of the 11,000 tribal members, almost half the population - or about 5,000 - are served annually by the AAMHC Zuni schools, tribal programs, and farming organizations. The AAMHC serves all six Zuni schools with classroom presentations and special tours at the museum. Occasionally, the AAMHC hosts exhibits created by Zuni school students.
The mission of the A:shiwi A:wan museum and heritage center is to provide the Zuni Indian community through exhibits and cultural programs, with opportunities for learning and reflection that are relevant and reinforce A:shiwi values
