Presently the Asian American Association of New Mexico has members from eleven Asian American communities: Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Indian (East Asia), Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Laos, Nepali, Thai, and Vietnamese. Our activities have included the following: 1. Celebrating an Annual Festival of Asian Cultures during Asian Heritage Month (May. 2. We hold the Asian American Day at the State Legislature every two years. 3. Over the last four years we conducted yearly anti-smoking projects for our community youths. 4. We founded the Asian Family Center to provide support services to Asian Americans in New Mexico. This Center is now an indipendent nonprofit organization.
