Center for Self Sufficiency and Housing Assistance

The Center for Self-Sufficiency and Housing Assistance provides housing assistance to individuals and families to assist them to transition to self-sufficiency and sustainable housing.  Our programs range from one-time rental assistance to long-term permanent housing programs:

  • Rental Assistance Program (RAP) provides rental assistance and case management to Bernalillo or Sandoval County residents who are behind on rent or are experiencing homelessness.
  • Proyecto La Luz is a HUD supportive housing program for single or two parent families experiencing homelessness.
  • Hibernian House offers subsidized rental units for low income seniors. Located in downtown Albuquerque, Hibernian House has 20 units with enclosed courtyards.
  • Partners in Housing program serves individuals and parents with children in Bernalillo County. Applicants must have a documented disability (mental or physical) and proof of chronic homelessness. Participants with a substance abuse disorder will also be assisted in obtaining Housing. This program provides case management with the focus on building a stable home for themselves and their children, while they obtain the appropriate services that will lead to their increased well-being.
