We offer early childhood and elementary programs in hands-on math, science, language and cultural studies, which also include weekly enrichment classes in Art, Music, Drama, P.E., Steel Band and Environmental Education. Our unique gardening program emphasizes sustainability and resourcefulness in harmony with nature. Our classrooms are run by a faculty whose common goal is to encourage the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of each child through individualized learning opportunities. Our classrooms are warm, open environments conducive to exploration and collaboration as well as independent study. Our students, from 2 years old through the fifth grade, are grouped in three-year, multi-age clusters which facilitate optimal learning through peer mentoring, teamwork and community building.
The mission of Cottonwood School is to encourage the individual potential of each child by providing a rich academic curriculum in harmony with nature, the arts and the community in accordance with Montessori philosophy.
