Creative Aging's purpose, consistent with its mission statement, is to support older adults and be responsive to their needs by helping through research, networking and education. We have developed a resource center located in the ENMU-Ruidoso Branch in Ruidoso, NM. From this center we continue to hold meetings on a variety of subjects as we work on such domains that enhance well-being for older adults such as public transportation, financial management, access to information on health care, housing, and opportunities for mentorships in a variety of nonprofit and public organizations.
We the Creative Aging Advisory Committee, recognize that many of the key factors that influence a livable community are determined locally, in our case within Lincoln County, N.M. We, therefore, strive to create an opportunity to bring together decision makers and influencers across the public, private, and volunteer sectors at the county level and work in partnership with older adults to put in place imaginative changes that will have real impact on the day-to-day lives of all of us as we age in this frontier community.
