The DestinationImagination annual challenges encourage teams of learners K-12 to have fun, take risks, focus and frame their projects while incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), the Arts and Service learning. Students learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for people and other ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. Teams then showcase their work at a statewide competition at the Albuquerque Academy in Spring where winners can take their projects to the Global challenge competition in Tennessee.DI develops teamwork, collaboration and leadership skills. Nurtures research and inquiry skills, involving both creative exploration and attention to detail. The DI challenges enhance written and verbal communication and presentation skills (both impromptu and sustained).
