Community Education for Regenerative Agriculture
Desert Oasis Teaching Gardens/

Community Education for Regenerative Agriculture

At its core, the DOT Gardens is a living laboratory for developing dynamic methods that respond to changes and adapt to various scales – school, neighborhood, city, or region. Our two acres has designated areas for testing new technologies and solutions, and holding classes and workshops that impart skills and knowledge to people of all ages. Our learners can evaluate different techniques and then apply their experiences and knowledge in their communities. Experimenting with approaches, observing outcomes and gathering data is critical in order to share evidence-based solutions.

At the Desert Oasis Teaching Gardens, we

  • design and provide resources, education, and skills-based training for all ages from youth to seniors about growing food in a hotter drier land;
  • utilize restorative agriculture to nurture the soil and support healthy plants, people, and pollinators;
  • offer opportunities to develop hardiness and practice creativity, patience, and quick-thinking; and,
  • foster becoming more adaptable and thriving in challenging situations.
