Borrego Pass is a Kindergarten through eighth grade school with 130 students. The student population consists of 99% Navajo and 1% other. The staff population consists of 82% Navajo and 18% non-native. The school is located in northwestern New Mexico in the Eastern Navajo Agency with Crownpoint being the nearest large community. The school serves local communities of Littlewater, Borrego Pass, Mariano Lake Casmero Lake, Crownpoint, Smith Lake and Baca. The school is rural and the students must be bussed from the local chapters in the area with the longest route one way being 30 miles. All students qualify for free/reduced lunch
