Our participatory mapping projects enable residents to decide what they want to map, gather information using a free mobile application, and then communicate their findings to decision makers. This process is coupled with our work to engage municipal employees and elected officials in reimagining public participation processes and breaking down silos within local government. We foresee a future in which community members participate as full partners in the decision making process for all types of issues, including planning and zoning, transportation, and human services.
Doña Ana Communities United (DA Communities United) creates welcoming spaces for all people, especially those whose voices and stories go unheard. We build genuine relationships, carry out uplifting projects, and engage with local government.
