Education for Parents of Indian Children with Special Needs, EPICS, established July 2009, continues to meet the founder’s vision to specifically serve families of Native American Children with Disabilities, Developmental Delays, Special Healthcare Needs, and Deaf or Hard of Hearing. EPICS serves Native American children from birth to 26 years old. EPICS is recognized as a community parent resource center providing comprehensive training that focus on advocacy, leadership, support, and capacity building with the highest standards, accountability and continuous improvement. Training is provided to educate parents on their rights, responsibilities and protections as they develop their skills necessary to effectively participate in the planning and decision making relating to Early Intervention, Educational and Transitional Services to meet their child’s specific and unique needs.
