The Alpha Mentoring Program is designed to address the academic, social, and cultural needs of young minority high school males. Members of the AMP program are mentored closely throughout their freshmen and sophomore years of high school in the areas of academic excellence, community awareness, work force and college preparation, and cultural activism with the implicit goal of transitioning and supporting young men of color from high school into college. In subsequent high school years (Junior and Senior) the young men will continue to participate in the program as student mentors and role models for the freshmen and sophomores in the Program. The students will be provided the space and opportunity to build positive relationships with minority male role models that will impact their academic success throughout their high school careers. AMP coordinators and mentors will monitor the students’ academic and social progress throughout their time in the program, as well as make the attempt to connect the students to a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc at whatever college the student chooses to attend in an effort to provide that mentorship support.
The E.S. Foster Education Assistance Trust is to devoted to supporting efforts directed toward providing financial assistance to both deserving high school seniors and college students in need, to promote continuing education for constructive citizenship, to encourage the production of scholarly works by members of Iota Psi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and others, and to facilitate any other education based program and activity voted on by the Board of Trustees.
