Expressions of Joy is a choir made up of adults - ages 17 & up - that are developmental challenged. The chorus was formed in the Spring of 2011. We learn new songs and present a 'themed' concert 3 times per year. We have been fortunate enough to sing the National Anthem at Isotopes games, become one of KOB's Hometown Heroes, sing at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe, and sing for the Tree Lighting in Uptown. We've sung for Special Olympics, Merry Makers Christmas ball, Coronado Villa Retirement home and the Holiday Stroll in Old Town.
Our members do not pay dues but are welcome to buy an Expressions of Joy T-shirt to be worn at all performances. Rehearsal are on Tuesday nights 7 - 8pm at Asbury UMC, 10000 Candelaria NE.
All Special Needs Adults are invited to join us.
Expressions of Joy, Inc. is a non-profit organization, whose purpose is to bring the joy of singing to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or other special needs. Those who are 17 & up are welcome. Most music is taught by call & response while the words of other songs are printed in notebook form.
