The FRC includes a relaxed living room setting with a play structure and three libraries. This setting creates a comfortable place for the community to gather. Families come to the FRC to combat isolation, address children’s developmental and behavioral health, learn from one another, and meet social needs. The FRC offers ongoing activities for families, such as facilitated parent discussion groups, and toddler/parent activities. Included in the FRC are three libraries; The Beth Ladino Family Resource Library offers materials related to family wellbeing, the Toy Lending Library circulates toys targeting child development and the Educational Resource Library houses curriculum to help families who are schooling from home.
FSN has multiple support groups. These groups serve families with expectant mothers, young children, kinship care circumstances, and more. FSN family support groups are designed to meet community need.
Community education is offered through parenting classes, programs in the schools, and various workshops.
The mission of Family Strengths Network (FSN) is to improve the quality of family life for generations. FSN provides education and activities to all types of families, parents, teens, and children. Specifically, FSN serves families in Los Alamos County and Northern New Mexico.
FSN is a neutral, non-political, inclusive organization with a goal of helping all types of families. We aim to help community members with the challenge of being healthy, self-sufficient, and able to share with and learn from other families.
