Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico

The Food Bank distributes more than 1 million pounds of food each year through various programs:

• The Agency Pantry Service allows qualifying organizations access to food to supplement their own food pantries.
• The Food For Kids Weekend Backpack Program provides backpacks to students who may not have enough food at home to feed them over the weekend. Feeding Families is a sister program that provides a referral service for families of school children to receive a box of food.
• Produce to People are free monthly produce markets held in Portales.
• The Mobile Food Program delivers food to rural sites in eastern New Mexico for a monthly distribution of food.
• Bulk Repackaging allows the Food Bank to accept donations of bulk dry items such as beans and rice and safely repackage them for re-distribution.
• I Still Care is a nonmedical daily telephone check-in to learn if a person lacks food, medicine or has had an emergency. When these situations occur, we notify the proper emergency personnel.
