The Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence recognizes seven teachers each year statewide, alternating between elementary, middle school and high school levels. The recipients are nominated by community members (students, parents, colleagues) and participate in a rigorous application and site visit process before being selected. Recipients are inducted into the Academy of Golden Apple Fellows at the Tribute to Teacher Excellence luncheon each spring.
