Haven House
Haven House/

Haven House

Haven House enables domestic violence victims to gain immediate safety plus the knowledge, skills, and resources to succeed in lives free of violence and abuse.  Beyond the critical services which meet the physical and emotional needs of victims at our shelter, we offer life skills education which empowers these families to break the cycle of abuse and violence.  We know that the 3 million child-witnesses to DV assaults (ACES) annually, will suffer from trauma which causes developmental challenges including failure to thrive, failure to concentrate, acting out behaviors and depression. We recognize, that these vulnerable children are becoming our highest-risk, future generation of abusers and are more likely to suffer the hardships of homelessness, incarceration, PTSD, and suicide…unless we reach them and bring the safety, resiliency and life-skills they need to succeed.  Our professional staff works with these brave survivors, and our dedicated children’s program supports our In-Shelter clients, so is designed to assist, aid, and comfort the parent and address the trauma and adversity realized by these young families.
