Our Land, Our Health is a multi-media training and resource manual that helps community members understand how land use policies and the built environment effect health. The Toolkit also provides community members the tools and information they need to engage in the public decision-making process and advocate for policies that will create healthy communities.
Health Matters New Mexico advocates for land use, social, and economic policies that will create healthy neighborhoods and resolve the disproportionate environmental burdens on communities of color and other economically vulnerable communities of New Mexico.
Our Work
Health Matters NM educates citizens and decision-makers about the impacts that neighborhood conditions have on health. HMNM also builds the capacity of community members to address the social, economic, and environmental conditions that shape the health of their communities. HMNM advocates for a health and racial equity approach to create healthier neighborhoods by providing analysis, data, and other information for policymakers to make informed decisions on behalf of the communities they serve.
