Our host schools, Bosque School and Manzano Day School, work with Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) each year to serve 144 students in a six-week intensive summer academy, supplemented by family engagement workshops and after school tutoring throughout the school year. During the summer, students get 2-3 hours of math and reading instruction a day and participate in enrichment activities. Each day students start with exercise such as swimming, basketball, yoga or tennis. Extracurricular activities include a choice of guitar, dance, chess, robotics, comkputer coding and art. During the school year, students are offered after-school tutoring and guitar lessons.
Horizons Albuquerque, an affiliate of Horizons National, is a tuition free academic enrichment program that addresses the achievement gap and summer learning loss for public school students from low-income families.
