A)Erosion Control: i)20 summer youth workers installed 105 sediment control structures, ii)erosion control training course held in Ojo Encino; B)Roads: i) area roads assessed ii) 30 miles closed or remediated in 2009 iii) 30+ miles remediated & 25 miles closed in 2008; C)Riparian Vegetation: i) 340 cottonwoods along with willows and riparian shrubs planted in 2009, willow cutting collected in the field also, ii) 300 cottonwoods planted in 2008; D)Solid Waste: i) 6 illegal dump sites cleaned, using 30 volunteers (residents & other partners, e.g., Sierra Club) and contractors (heavy equipment operator, trash haulers) E)Education & Outreach: i) Outreach to Rincon Marques community, ii) website & newsletter ongoing; F)Monitoring: i) model developed to estimate sediment availability and movement, ii) 4-6 sites being surveyed to collect baseline conditions and channel sediment transport; G)Administration: i) 7 Steering Committee meetings convened, ii) general project administration, etc.
