Short-term, home-based interventions for families experiencing a crisis so severe that children are at imminent risk for placement outside the family setting. A masters level therapist goes into the home to provide services which are aimed at ameliorating the underlying causes of family dysfunction. The therapist works with the family for 3 to 6 months. The objective of In-Home Services (IHS), is to preserve the family as a unit and prevent unnecessary placement of the children in a setting outside of the family home.
