Independent Living Program A Program for Navajo People With Disabil

Independent Living (IL) is designed to provide individualized services to people with severe impairments. IL provides services on an outreach basis, so that individuals may realize their fullest potential thereby enhancing their independence and self-sufficiency. Services include: intake counseling, referral and information services, peer counseling, health maintenance program, Independent Living Skills, counseling and training in maintenance of necessary equipment, job seeking skills, counseling on therapy needs and programs. Directories and other resources to identify appropriate housing services, accessible transportation and other support services, and other programs and services designed to provide resources, training, counseling services, or other assistance of substantial benefit in promoting independence, self-sufficiency, productivity, and quality of life of significantly impaired individuals.
