Independent Living Resource Center (ILRC) supports our consumers’ control over their own lives by providing assistance in accessing consumer-directed personal assistance services (PAS), also referred to as personal care services (PCS). Personal assistance and personal care services provide an essential support system allowing consumers to live in the environment of their choice and participate fully in their communities. Consumer-directed personal care services includes assistance with daily living activities such as dressing, personal hygiene, housework, meal preparation, transfers, mobility, shopping and transportation. In addition, PAS / PCS may also include physical assistance in personal, social, and life skills activities.
The Independent Living Resource Center (ILRC) is a grassroots, non-profit community agency founded in 1989 to encourage and empower individuals with disabilities to participate fully in family, community, and work life. ILRC provides advocacy, independent living services, and the consumer-directed service delivery model in the personal assistance and personal care service program for people with all disabilities in New Mexico.
