"In collaboration with local judiciary, law enforcement, schools, and service providers, it is the mission of the San Juan County Juvenile Assessment Center to provide a one-stop centralized facility for individualized processing, assessing, screening, and referring to identify and intervene with at-risk juveniles and juvenile offenders from becoming tomorrow's serious, violent, and chronic offenders."THE GOALS OF THE ASSESSMENT CENTER : Identify at-risk youth in the community in need of intervention. Connecting families with resources (by way of referral). Assist juveniles and their families with present crisis. Reduce law enforcement time devoted to juveniles, which will enable the officer to return back to the street. Facilitate collaboration and communication among all agencies. Accelerate youth access to treatment. Reduce duplication, promote efficiency, and enhance community accessibility.
