Classical music has transcended the ages; it provides, joy, calm, and beauty to people of all ages. It is especially meaningful for those who are housebound, those who do not have the financial means to attend classical performances or buy music to play. We would like to expand outreach to anyone who can access internet services or who has a radio; Podcasts can be downloaded and will be available to help youth to seniors learn and expand their enjoyment of classical music. Podcasts can be utilized by school districts to supplement their arts learning about rhythm, composers, and musical periods.
In September, 2017 after 65 years broadcasting, KHFM became a public radio station. Support for broadcasts and streaming is paid for entirely by support from our community.
To provide classical music to New Mexican audiences on the air and online despite physical and financial barriers; to promote live music, the performing and visual arts, and Arts Continuing Education in New Mexico; and to promote New Mexico arts and artists worldwide.
