The non-profit Lensic Performing Arts Center functions as a year-round performance space, dedicated to providing the citizens of northern New Mexico with the most diverse programming possible.Our Community Sponsorship program gives close to 15 nonprofit and civic groups the Lensic stage at low to no cost for fundraising purposes - groups keep one hundred percent of their ticket sales and have access to our professional backstage and box office staff to support their efforts.
The Lensic's education program play an important role in introducing the performing arts to students. Each year through the PASS program, nearly 16,000 students in grades K through 8 come to The Lensic for free performances. Our Technical Theater Internship program has taught over a hundred high school students valuable stagecraft skills. Future Voices of New Mexico, our annual film and video program and competition, has introduced hundreds of high school students from northern New Mexico to working with industry professionals.
Since its inception in 2001, The Lensic has had more than 3,000 performances, serving over 1,400,000 audience members.
The nonprofit Lensic Performing Arts Center enriches lives by bringing diverse art and people together in the historic Lensic Theater, a cornerstone of downtown Santa Fe since 1931. The Lensic presents and supports local and national artists and serves as a center for education, community and youth events through its accessible and affordable programming.
