A list of documents accepted for obtaining a NM birth certificate. All documents must be unexpired and valid. New Mexico birth certificates are restricted access records. State law restricts access to the registrant's immediate family members or those who represent tangible proof of legal interest in the requested record. All documents are accepted at the discretion of the State Registrar or Appointee.
