The New Mexico Maternal Mortality Review Committee first convened in 2018. The committee reviews all pregnancy-associated deaths (all deaths that occur during pregnancy or within one year of the end of pregnancy, due to any cause). Our mission is to identify and review maternal deaths caused by pregnancy complications and other factors, to identify remediable problems contributing to maternal deaths, and to develop interventions to prevent these deaths
