LiftFund was established in New Mexico in 2015 with a vision of leveling the financial playing field through entrepreneurship opportunities after being founded in 1994 in San Antonio, Texas, our headquarters. LiftFund provides capital to clients who are underbanked and unable to receive a loan from a mainstream financial institution due to credit issues, little or no collateral, no training or experience in business management, or their credit needs are too small for a bank to fund. Available credit alternatives include high-cost, asset-stripping fringe financial services, such as online and payday lenders, that keep the borrower in a vicious debt cycle. LiftFund is dedicated to the economic and social success of Albuquerque's small business owners and entrepreneurs who are left out of the financial mainstream despite being a vital force in the Albuquerque economy. In partnership with the Albuquerque Community Foundation, LiftFund's Entrepreneur Empowerment Program will target emerging small business owners so they can thrive, not just survive.
The mission of LiftFund is to provide credit and services to small businesses and entrepreneurs who do not have access to loans from commercial sources and to provide leadership and innovation to the microlending industry. We serve 13 states and have provided $320 million in affordable, accessible loan products to 20,000 small business owners. LiftFund transforms lives by opening doors, leveling the financial playing field and building a community of shared success through entrepreneurship.
