IAM is a program dedicated to creating and maintaining a curriculum that certifies individuals--specifically youth--in advanced manufacturing techniques. We partner with relevant programs to place youth apprenticies into a program that delivers a facility with 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machinery and certifies them as ready to pursue a career in custom manufacturing, bespoke production, robotic fabrication and the key jobs of the immediate future. Graduates of the program learn operation, maintenance and advanced techniques in the software, physical tools, maintenance and operation and overriding principles behind the operation of the tools and technologies that are most in demand.
Those who complete the program are prepared to enter the Department of Labor-approved Maker Professional Registered Apprenticeship program that launches in 2017.
MAKE Santa Fe is a community resource and workspace that provides access to powerful tools, technologies, training and resources that energize and empower craft, creativity, entrepreneurship and opportunity throughout northern New Mexico and beyond.
