Many Mothers contributes to the health and wellbeing of communities by providing physical, emotional, and practical support to any Santa Fe family following the birth or adoption of a new baby.
The organization also educates families in Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, and Santa Fe counties on ways to lower the incidence of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) by conducting home visits to families and educating them on research-based methods to reduce the risk of SIDS. These educational visits provide free safe sleep implements and basic items to get infants off to a healthy start. Many Mothers provides start-up materials and support to any community group wishing to develop a similar service, and over a dozen nonprofits in the US have created programs based off our innovative model.
