McCurdy Ministries became a Family resource Campus in 2024 through a grant through the state of New Mexico with the purpose of becoming a hub for the community in which families can be connected with resources, community partners, state agencies, and one another. The McCurdy Family Resource Center hub is located in the former Cole High school building and is open to any family in the area. We also have opened the Light House, a family clothing ministry with the help of Locker #505, a nonprofit from Albuquerque. The Light House was begun with a deep realization that we, at McCurdy, are committed and passionately called to serve the entire family, we will soon be opening a Food Pantry, through the Food Depot in the FRC building!
Originally established in 1912, McCurdy Ministries currently is a National Historic institution of the United Methodist Church, formerly known as McCurdy Schools of Northern New Mexico. McCurdy Ministries provides after school and preschool programs, mental health counseling, summer camps, youth programs and is now a Family Resource Campus to our community. Since changing our mission from being a school to a community center in August of 2017, we have impacted our community by offering faith-based programs for children and youth as well as programs for adult enrichment that include emotional and behavioral health support. Mccurdy Ministries opened as a Family Resource Center in 2024 to serve the community and to provide a welcoming place for the community to gather. Our goal is to create hope and empower the lives of children, teens and their families in the Española valley.
