Valencia County Head Start serves 348 (3-5 year old) children and families throughout Belen, Los Lunas and surrounding areas. We provide services at 8 different locations. Adelino (main office), Belen (4), & Los Lunas (3) public schools. We offer a curriculum that focuses on school readiness goals, which will get your child ready for kindergarten. Our program also encourages community and family involvement through various activities and events held during the school year. All classrooms provide nutritious meals and snacks served daily, along with monthly nutrition activities to teach our children healthy eating habits. In addition our Program provides services to families, and meets the needs of special populations, including but not limited to children with disabilities. Our partnership with New Mexico Pre K allows us to provide services to an additional 39 Pre K children at our Adelino location. New Mexico Pre K is available to any child 4 years of age by September 1st of the enrollment year. Head Start applications accepted throughout the school year.
