The southwest New Mexico Food Hub is a "dual-purpose" food hub serving both small, low-income food producers and the food pantry system of Catron, Grant, Hidalgo and Luna counties. The hub helps these growers reach their business goals through training, education, consultation and through the aggregation, marketing and distribution of their foods to markets outside of the region.
Additionally, the hub builds the capacity of regional food pantries through convenings, fundraising, trainings, consultations and distirbuting healthy food for those in need.
The mission of the National Center for Frontier Communities is to be the national clearinghouse, conduct research, provide education, and offer leadership on issues of importance to frontier communities. NCFC gives a voice to people and programs in frontier communities and raises awareness of frontier issues to policymakers, agencies, and the public. Our mission is to provide national leadership and build collaboration on issues important to frontier communities. We envision the National Center for Frontier Communities as a leader and partner in advocating for frontier communities as a vital, integral and significant component of the national fabric that is equitably reflected in policy and programs.
