FosterEd is an initiative of the National Center for Youth Law that improves the educational outcomes of students in the state's care. One of just a handful of iniatives recognized by the Center for the Study of Social Policy as helping foster youth thrive, we collaborate with state and local agencies to ensure that every student in care has an educational champion and education team supporting their educational success. We use the lessons learned in our demonstration sites to inform system-level change on behalf of students in foster care and probation systems.
The National Center for Youth Law (NCYL) is a nonprofit law firm that has worked to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and youth for over four decades. As a national support center, we coordinate campaigns that weave together research, public awareness, policy development, technical assistance, and litigation when necessary, to ensure the systems designed to support at-risk children do so effectively.
