Food Systems Literacy Program

The National Latino Farmers and Ranchers Trade Association New Mexico Chapter Youth Project is a college preparation and career exploration program that highlights Food, Agriculture, Nutrition, and Human Sciences (FANH) for low-income students. The program features academic year tutoring in STEM, once a month hands-on workshops with educator farmers, and a summer residential program on the main campus of NM Institute of Mining and Technology (NM Tech). FANH sciences or mini courses are offered over a two day period where students study in a college atmosphere and visit nearby attractions such as the VLA.
