Native Plant Society of New Mexico
Native Plant Society of New Mexico/

Native Plant Society of New Mexico

The Native Plant Society of New Mexico awards grants and makes donations to individuals and organizations that further the goals of the Society. The goals of the Society are, "to promote the conservation of our native flora and plant habitats and to encourage the appropriate use of native plants in New Mexico."Grants are awarded to individual projects with a goal that can be completed within a stated time period and within a specified budget. Donations are given to non-profit organizations to support on-going work that meets the objectives and goals of the Native Plant Society. The NPSNM has seven chapters (including one in El Paso, Texas) that work to promote our objectives and educate the local population so they might better understand their regional flora through field trips, lectures, plant sales and seed exchanges. The talents, interests and skills of chapter members greatly influence the activities and programs offered. Many chapters schedule activities during the year and visitors are always welcome. Check out the Local Chapters link on the website. The conservation chair supplies information on issues pertaining to the conservation of native plants and habitats on public and private lands in New Mexico. We offer this information to assist interested individuals in learning about the laws, agencies and programs involved in plant related issues.
