The Department for Self Reliance (DSR) is established under the Navajo Nation Division of Social Services, within the Executive Branch of the Navajo Nation, and is responsible for administering the Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program for the Navajo Nation and nearby federally recognized reservation communities in New Mexico, Arizona and Utah.
