Acequia Governance-this program strengthens self-governance of acequias with regard to water management. NMAA supports acequias through workshops and consultations on acequia bylaws and infrastructure planning. Sembrando Semillas-this programs purpose is to increase the cultivation of foods that are culturally and spiritually meaningful to our communities through intergenerational food projects.
Our Mission is to sustain our way of life by protecting water as a community resource and by strengthening the farming and ranching traditions of our families and communities. The NM Acequia Association is governed by the Congreso de Las Acequias, a statewide federation of regional acequias.
