The New Mexico Early Childhood Development Partnership (NMECDP) is the policy arm of United Way of Santa Fe County. Established in 2009, NMECDP works to enhance early learning policy and investment in order to grow high-quality, sustainable early childhood programs. The mission of the New Mexico Early Childhood Development Partnership is to create the public awareness and political will for investments in early childhood care and education in New Mexico. We are committed to a long-term vision while pursuing a clear short-term agenda. We work to advance policy at multiple levels using legislative, executive and administrative strategies. Through our actions we cultivate, engage and align multiple champions and partners. NMECDP has developed critical success factors which define our approach:
Fostering public-private partnership;
Cultivating respect as impartial experts by a variety of stakeholders;
Establishing open communication among critical stakeholders and with a non-partisan approach
Focusing on quality, transparency, and accountability
Ensuring a nimble and responsive organization able to move quickly and pivot as needed to address a rapidly changing political landscape.
